True. I'd have to agree. The British accent sounds so intelligent and fancy.

There certainly is a formality to how the British speak. It's very charming. Don't take this the wrong way... I love America... but if you have an American and a Britain, the Britain will usually sound more intelligent (even if they aren't).
So as far as accents, even though I have a Wisconsin accent, I do think British accents sound more sophisticated than American accents.

There are many different American accents and those from Connecticut sound similar to some British accents. So it kind of depends on which American accents you are speaking of.

There is no british accent. I'm english. Some of the american men when they talk they sound completely dumb, not all but some.. and the women i don't really care tbh.. I love copying all the diff accents of people from america though only because it's easy but i don't like most american people's accent as they come across as stupid or stuck up.. not all but some.

I have no idea what British people think about American accents (probably hate it!), but I'm in the same boat as you. I prefer the British accent over the American accent as well.

I just melt and melt all over again when I listen to an English accent...
And then when I listen to an Irish accent, wow... I'm a goner..!
-(But, as an American, I was told many but many times that us Americans' accent, when speaking Spanish, it's out of this world... Too bad I cannot hear myself... And, personally, my heart goes crazy when a woman talks with a Southern accent... wow...)-

There is so much variety in American and British accents that this is a difficult question.

It depends on where you grew up, If your American (me) you like how they talk here and the british accent is weird to me, but If you grew up in britain (my cousins) they find the American accent weird
