I inherited quite a few years back a little less than 20k. After three years, I realized if I invested it in the company I was working for Valero (VLO), that I could have tripled my money. Instead I blew it on day to day stuff.

Google GOOG and Apple APPL would had been the best choice and more profitable investments 4 years ago. Google went from $100 /trade to almost $600 / trade today. Apple went from $40/trade to $160/trade today.

Any of the bottled water companies. Years ago, we were like "Come on. Who's gonna buy that when you can get it from the tap?" Look at them now.
