I do not use MLA style very often (I regularly use APA), and its been a few years since I've been required to use it. Is this citation correct for quoting a text?

Robert Sklar says about D.W. Griffith’s films, “They moved swiftly, they had an aura of intensified emotion and heightened energy. Griffith’s imagination was… florid and extravagant…and it seemed to work with visual images…” (53).

You wouldn't do the ..." at the end. But the (53). is right

yes, but don't use the ellipses at the end.
