I have a desktop with a wireless connection that I want to bridge with an ethernet cable to an xbox 360 so I do not have to purchase a wireless MS adaptor for the xbox 360. My modem and router are in a different section of my home so I can only connect using the computer with the wireless connection or have to purchase a wireless adaptor from MS for the xbox 360

You can connect your xbox directly to your computer to share media and connect to Xbox Live.

Connect the Xbox with your PC's ethernet jack. Preferably get a crossover ethernet cable (although I heard the Xbox 360 is autosensing and will automatically switch to crossover mode).

If this connection is done, start the Internet Connection Sharing Wizard on your Windows XP or Vista PC.

Search for Internet Connection Sharing in the Windows help, and you will find a detailed step by step instruction on how to do it.

Then enjoy playing on Xbox Live.

hi, as u said u've a desktop and using wireless bb connection and the wireless router is in next section of the house. it means ur desktop has wireless enabled facilities. but further as u've asked to connect ur xbox play station with an ethernet cable is not possible, u need to have a network adaptor card for the same. every additional port u require to add u need separate adapters......Moreover ur wireless connection enables you for homenetwork...ur x-box will also be a part of the same.

the best thing to do is to either move your router near your Xbox or buy a wireless adaptor for your Xbox. I would move my router if its possible. if not just buy the adaptor its not that hard to install.

You find someone who has a knowledge of how to do so and be really really nice to them so you don't wreck your expensive stuff. :D
