Pharmacy is a difficult field, and entry into PharmD programs is very competitive. Barring a miraculous turnaround in your study habits, you're just not going to get into Pharmacy School.

You might get into some third-rate university, but you'll probably get a useless degree and incur big debt.

In short, have you considered an apprenticeship in some trade - Plumber ? Electrician ? Machinist (Tool & Die Maker) ? Welder ?

To be honest I would recommend a community college not because you're "doomed" to go there but because of you choice of majors also. I am an aspiring pharmacist as well and in my senior year, when deciding what to do about college I was doing some research and found out that more people are accepted into a pharmacy of college from a community college than from even candidates from the college being applied to. Like I had a 3.76 unweighted gpa and a 4.59 weighted, a 32 on the ACT, over 300 hours communtiy service, a full 4 year scholarship along with several other scholarships, etc...so I could pretty much choose where I wanted to go but I choose community college and am very happy with the decision. It is easier to learn more comprehensively in a small class setting offered at a community college than trying to learn in a large class setting. I am now a 1st year pharmacy major at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy which is one of the top in the nation. All I am saying is give community college a chance.

While I wouldn't say you're doomed, I do think you're going to have to take some time to get your grades and credits together before you go into a 4 year school.

Your best bet at this point is probably going to be to check out a community college. They're slightly more lenient in terms of requirements and tests. Get an idea of where you want to go after that and then talk it over with your adviser. They'll let you know what you're going to need in terms of grades and credits to transfer to the school you want to go to after that. As long as you don't treat the community college like Grade 13 and you buckle down and get your grades and requirements taken care of there isn't any reason why you wouldn't be able to transfer out. The other benefit to community college is that you can work while you're going to school and get some money set aside for when you go to a 4 year school.

There are plenty of students who choose to go this way. You'll end up in the same place as a lot of people who graduate from a 4 year school, you're just taking the more scenic route there.

Pharmacy schools, in general, do not care about your high school record. It is your college record which will determine admittance. You can go to community college, but most pharmacy schools are biased against them. You'll have to be markedly above average. Most will have to get bachelors to be competitive. In my class of 162, less than 5 were pure traditional community college students.

well you may not be able to make it into a major university like yale, or harvard. when i graduated last year i graduated with a 2.5 and i didn't take sat's and had 1 year spanish. you may be able to attend a college. i am going to gibbs college. once you get your first associates then you can transfer, that's the easiest way. or you can go for your bachelors. hope i was able to help you out.
