I served with the Army from 1976 to 2000. I was in the Gulf War for 3 campaigns. Iraq was the only logical place for the Al Quida to run to after attacking Afghanistan. We either arrived at the same time they did or just before. The cashes of money we found in the country, I believe, were to pay the Taliban or Al Quida as mercenaries to continue fighting the Alliance against Terrorists should Saddam fall from power. The country has grown through several generations under the Saddam regime it is difficult change for them. I cannot imagine the confusion by all generations of Iraqi's that a Western Democracy is there for their interest. I believe we can complete the mission given just a little more time and patience on our part.

Whether I approve of Iraq or not is moot now.....I know FIRST HAND what happens when you tie the warriors hands and when politicans stick their ugly faces in the picture. Murtha, kerry, Reid, Pelosie, Clinton and the likes need to butt out and keep their lying mouths shut. These men and women have a job to do. They dont need the "nay sayers" and "liars" doing them any favors. You will always have the peace niks and looneys. Terrorism aint gonna disappear anytime soon. The bigger question is ......when it strikes here again how will everyone feel towards the war?

Do you really want to know? Iran, Iraq, the entire region has been embroiled in war since before the dawn of civilization. They are war-mongers; now they are terrorists. They have no qualms; they do use WMDs (entire villages wiped out. Just check the news...)
The entire world should hold them liable for their actions; war should be visited upon them until they realize their folly.

andy g,
Iraq I support our TROOPS in Iraq because we need to help them. I am hard core as you know, but through no fault of true Americans & our TROOPS it is looking like something like Vietnam. I know you understand.
andy g, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

It was a very dangerous gamble removing Saddam and trying to stabilize the country. We are the only nation that ever existed that would give so much for another people. I guess it shows how important it is to not have enemies in that region.

6 years navy
working for the veterans administration now
i see everyday how the troops are getting screwed out of benefits that were promised to them. with more to come.
i talk to returning vets that are being turned down for PTSD claims because the government says they had a preexisting mental problem......if that is so then why were they inducted into the military in the first place.......
i think this war is a sham and it is strictly for profit

After the lies evaporate, it was the right move.
This would be over now if not for the political interference.
