If not, what was the purpose of lying to invade Iraq?

Make no mistake, the only reason we have any sense of security in this country is the giant ocean between us and the middle east, otherwise we would experience the same daily struggles Israel faces on a daily basis

I suspect that had Bush not been inaugurated, the Twin Towers would still be standing--and remember, Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with the attacks of 9/11, okay? That was Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda, who were hiding out in Afghanistan. Bin Laden is a religious fundamentalist lunatic and Hussein was a mostly secular slimeball; the two men hated each other.

As for whether Iraq would have invaded us, no. They didn't have the means to do so, although I suspect Hussein had the desire. I mean, I can wish for a basketball contract all I want, but as I barely crack 5' in lack-of-height and I don't have an athletic bone in my body, that just isn't going to happen.

There are many theories as to why Bush lied to gin up support for invading Iraq. Some think it's oil. Some think it's to show up daddy or prove him wrong. There's the revenge theory--Bush was under the impression Saddam Hussein wanted to kill his dad. It could very well be so he could give his and Cheney's contractor buddies sweet no-bid contracts. He was obsessed with Hussein long before the towers came down.

Iraq does not have the military strength that could equal ours, even during the time of Saddam Hussein. Because of that, Iraq will not even think of invading the U.S.

Most certainly not.
The purpose was to control the sweet crude oil of Iraq. Negotiations are still under way for the legal paperwork to steal Iraqi oil.
The purpose of lying is obvious that was the only way Bush could sell the big grab to benefit his oil buddies to Congress and 90% of the American people(the other 10% never bought the lie of WMD's).
How could Iraq ever invade the US?

No. Sadaam had no legit reason to Attack the US and had no means. Also this whole myth that we would have been attacked if we did not invade iraq. How is this true there was no evidence of terrorist groups actively operating in Iraq when sadaam was in power.

If this, if that, theres no right or wrong answer, half the posters here don't even know what's beyond their mamas basement. They can guess all day long and you can pick the answer that best fits your ideology, but any answer to that question is an opinion, and we all know what they're worth.

I find this more of a rant question. Try leaving out the details to prevent it from being a rant in the future. Your initial question had potential until you added the details.

No, not an invasion, but we would have been hit by several terrorist attacks as bad if not worst than 9-11. Of course the Dems would blame the "vast right wing conspiracy" rather than Osama or Saddam.

Hell no. Bush was just trying to manipulate the Oil-rich nations. Saudi Arabia is running out, Iraq will be our next major supplier.

yes it would have, saddam kept refusing to follow through with Un requirements and before Bush the dems in congress wanted for us to attack him.
