I personally used to like their music before they got big. but now most kids just say they like them to fit in. but the bands music has always been so great. the band is different from others, they let kids know that its okay to be different and that no one should have to put up with a bunch of crap that goes on.

Probably because the singer looks 'goth', meaning he looks troubled, and lots of teenagers find themselves to be troubled. They just associate themselves with the band mostly.
