Look past the surface, the identity the world gives us and look to the soul of the person you are trying to understand, that part that makes him tick, the goodness that is inside, the beauty that is hidden, the faith that moves mountains, and appreciate that and not who went where or did what or with whom or for how long. Look in the moment and enjoy the fact that someone is willing to share that which is really them with you. And if you can see that, share that with them too.
And yes this sounds flowery and vague but when you get past the surface of a person it is all flowery and vague but so much more real than you ever thought imaginable.

By communicating in some form ( talk, phone, chat, IM, text, email) over a long period of time. Asking questions and giving honest answers to each other helps to build trust and friendship.

This could take some time, the best way is to come and sit on my front poarch overlooking the lake and have coffee with me one morning about 6:00 AM. Like my profile says, Retired, knows everything and has plenty of time to telll you about it...........######

i find that best way to let them see the real you is to show them the real you.
If you dont expose who you are than how will they ever really know what you are like.

I think the best way to let someone to get to know the real you is to just be yourslef. Its worked for me, and trust me, Its always better to be loved for who you are then hated for who your not...

It is quite easy question to be answered but not that easy to apply. Just be the true to yourself and also to the persons around you. Talk as you are, walk as you are. Do such things in the way you naturally do.. Especially, don't you ever try to act as someone who are not you just to please anyone..
