Today I washed an olive green t shirt with other dark clothes. I use Woolite dark and oxyclean stain remover and cold water. The shirt came out with orange splotches all over it - like the dye had been removed somehow. None of the other garments were affected. Is this just a cheaply made shirt, or what?

If you poured the detergent directly onto the clothes this could be why. The next time let the machine fill up and start to agitate before adding any detergents...

Ditto as above - Dissolve detergent first then add cloths, will also prolong fabric life.

* Some non colorfast dyes will breakdown if laundry liquid or powder is poured directly onto the fabric.

* Due to the Alkaline & Oxidizing chemicals in the Oxyclean; concentrating on the fabric while dissolving the Indigo part of the green dye leaving the yellow or orange blotches behind.

Good Luck!!

oxiclean might be the problem. Dark clothes must be washed with a soap that is color fast. Like Cheer among others.
