JRP is a major scam operation. They lie to people from the start with false ads about auditioning for Disney and other big name production copanies, they tell EVERYONE that they have potential or a great look, etc. That's what they train their people to do in order to reel you in so that when they lay on the hard sell for their overpriced classes, you'll bite hook, line and sinker. Go to http://ripoffreport.com/ and type in John Robert Powers and see how many complaints come up. You can also do the same at the BBB.org site. It doesn't stop with the casses either. Once they get you there they try to get you to go to majorly expensive conventions and buy extra photos from substandard photographers, etc.
What do you want to be? A model? An actor? You're better off taking classes elsewhere regardless. If you want to be a model make sure you meet the physical requirements and submit snapshots to real agents. JRP is not an agency no matter what they tell you. If you want to be an actor take REAL acting classes at an actors studio or start smaller at a local theatre taking workshop classes.
good luck and please don't get taken by these people.

JRP isn't precisely a scam and this is not any longer AN organisation. this is an rather intense priced [thousands of money] performing college [for a short era of time.. like.. 20 weeks or something]. the college brings in casting directors and brokers from round the rustic, and scholars interior the college audition for them. The cd/brokers will "score" all and distinct who's presented in, write comments like "fidgets and monotone" so as that they understand what they did incorrect (or top).. And the youngsters the cd/agent beloved can get a callback. What the callback is for is distinct for each cd/agent. I went to an identical college - does an same element - and that i realized alot and were given alot better in performing. I were given callbacks and were given to pass to chicago to audition for absolutely agencies (one organisation reported i replaced into the perfect they talked about that day, and in worry-free words did not signal me because someone known like me interior the organisation already) and my acquaintances on an same college were signed to some agencies. So this is not any longer inevitably a scam - you in worry-free words might want to funds in on it. They DO instruct you yet do not imagine it will make you fashionable. easily - i imagine this is an outstanding funding on your funds to take a lot less intense priced instructions close to you. they're probable only as sturdy if no longer better - yet they don't carry CD/brokers maximum in all probability. only seek for google. placed funds into headshots and distinct instructions instead of $3,000 for JRP. --- oh and the JRP harris county isn't an accepted organization on the BBB internet web site [it says 2 lawsuits were in contact, yet both lawsuits were resolved] even as the JRP in chicago is an accepted organization by utilizing the BBB. So i guess it relies upon on the only you pass to.

JRP can give you some lessons on how to carry yourself well and some idea of what to expect if you want to work as a model. They are not a modeling or talent agency but a school so they will not get you work and they massively overpice their photos and makeup services.
As long as you walk through the door willing to spend lots of money they will take you.
IMO you'd be better off taking some movement classes, make up classes and offering to do trade for print work.
Best of luck

I'm sure they painted a glamorous picture for you, but that is what's known as a "sales pitch". Don't fall for it.
You do not need to take any classes in order to work as a model. You do need classes for acting and singing, but you can find great instruction for a lot less than John Robert Powers charges.
