I've been spending SO much time with one of my friends during the summer, and this month, he's asking me to come to another party for Halloween. I told him I'd go, but then there's my other friend from my old school.

This other boy is from my old school, and I haven't been able to spend time with him at all. He invited me to go to a church party with him, where there'll be a lot of snacks and food and games and whatever. I told both of them that I've been deciding in between them.

Most likely, you'd probably think I should do the right thing and take the offer that was first given to me. But I feel horrible, I haven't been able to spend time with my old school friend in forever because he has really strict parents. He won't be able to invite me to this kinda thing in a lifetime.

But I care about my first friend very much, I just feel that I've committed too much to him, and that I need to spend time with the other.

So I'm not sure, should I do the right thing? or the wanted thing?

I know my answer isn't going to be one that you will be excited about, but it's one that well make your conscience clear.

Tell them both that you are very thankful for the invite, but you can't go to either of their functions, because it wouldn't be fair to choose one friend over the other.

If you do go to one of their parties you're going to feel guilty about ditching the other friend.

If they are both your friends, not boyfriends, invite the first one to go with you and the second one to the church party. You may all three become good friends. If you are involved romantically with one or both, you"ll have to make up your mind on one or the other. Good Luck!

it really depends... if they start at the same time and same day, then tell whichever one you're gonna go first to that you'll be leaving early b/c you have another party that you promised to go to b/c it's another really good friend and then for the one that you're going late to, tell him that you'll be arriving late b/c you have another party to attend to first, but you'll stay the whole rest of the time. that way, no one will be hurt. ^-^
