My wife and I home schooled our children until they were of high school age.
Our son has a good job as an automotive technician and our daughter is in college studying child development.
I am proud of them.
They are both doing quite well.

I would love to home school them, but I'm afraid that they would become idiots if I did. I just am not a teacher and neither is my wife and say what you want to about education system, they still do a better job than I could. I think that public school has a whole lot of wasted time during the hours they attend and that you could compress the day at home and get more accomplished. Socialization is important too though, so you have to find a balance somehow.

If you home school, you really need to be dedicated and knowledgable. I know some ppl that home school their children and let them watch a movie for history like "troy". That's not an education! But there are groups of home schooled children that do activities to help with the social aspect. It really depends on where you live, and the kinds of schools you have in your area. Here, in Montana, I would send my kids to a private school. Where I used to live, in Kentucky, I'd send them to public. It comes down to them getting the best all-around- socially, and education wise. The public school system in Montana sucks compared to KY, and drugs run rampid.

Private schools. Home schooling the kids miss out on friends. I knew a homeschooled kid with maybe two other friends. Public schools aren't as reliable.

public. I went to all of them. Home schooled kids have problems with social issues, private schooled kids are sheltered so when they leave for college they get into everything they didnt know about in highschool. Public school let you meet every kind of person, helps you learn how to deel with problems and peer pressure. As long as the parent is paying close attention to who they have chosen as friends and where they are going after school and arent afraid to talk to their kids about sex and drugs and drinking and smoking- i think public is the best. just dont let the school do ALL of the educating. all they do about sex is hand them a condom.

Mine went to public school (I wouldn't be able to afford private) but they did okay. I don't think home schooling is good as I think school is a way to learn the hard knocks of life to come (in the future) and socialization skills. A lot of drama happens in school (and in school we don't like it) but we also learn to deal with it for later in life because life is drama.

people say kids wont develop social skills if they aren't weth kids their own age, i disagree!! look at multiples, they have a plethora of reading and language setbacks, why? because they are learning and copying other people who are also undeveloped, an unskilled linguistically. the same thing weth social interactions, do u reallay want ur kid to be socialized by other bratty four year olds? i digress ahah X//D *thenks* wall maybe grammar school shud be home schooled, an highschool they shud go to a private school, im not sure tho *smiels at u* see cuase me an sarah had hypothetical babies, an we discused whut their schoolin wud be lmao *turns bright red* yah plus make sure they in a lot of activities, an sports an stuff, to make sure they have friends ⥠kids who are socialized by adults tho, are highly intelligent and have better vocabularys then kids who are mostly around other kids.

Public school, home school doesn't give kids interaction with other kids and private school doesn't have as big a varity of people as public school does. (plus private school makes you wear uniforms)

public school because then they will be able to interact with more kids and develop their social skills better than they would in a private school
