I have a school assignment to identify a stereotype prevalent today, and to find examples supporting or challenging this stereotype in the media. I have chosen nerds as my stereotype. Can anyone help me out with examples in media? Thanks ^^

Thanks guys, but from the responses so far, it seems my question was a little ambiguous... I have already established the stereotype of Nerd, I just want sources to cite in my assignment. For example, the movie Revenge of the Nerds supports the popular stereotype of a nerd. If anyone has any other examples that either support or challenge this stereotype, I would appreciate the help... Thanks again : )

I hope you will be focusing on the positives of these persons/characters because if we were all the same, what a boring world it would be.

Can't get dates
All of them like "Star Trek" or "Star Wars"
They all wear their pants above their belly buttons
They go out of their way to try to act cool
Math whizzes
Crooked or enormous front teeth
Pimply
Unattractive
Wear glasses
Bowl haircuts or some other variations of them
They're all either super horny or completely asexual
