are there any dangers of harmful effects of infrared waves/rays? ive already checked mutiple websites and haven't found a thing, so i'm hoping someone knows. it's for a project i'm working on in science and i need the information by tomorrow (october 9) so it would be great if someone can please look a this!!!

Good thing about infrared is that you feel is at heat. So if it is too warm, then move away.

One thing to be careful though is that when ever you are dealing with non-visible light is, PROTECT YOUR EYES. Your eyes have no heat receptors. That means, you won't feel anything when your eyes are exposed to too much of non-visible rays. You can burn though your retna if the light is focused and you won't feel it. (until it's too late, of course)

Infrared light has longer wavelength and thus lower energy then visible light. That make it less dangerous. Infrared is basically heat. Too much heat will hurt you.

Yes. Exposure to your retina can make you blind. Any consintrated ray/wave can do damage. Even radio frequences. Exposure to IR would have to be long or highly consitrated to have any effect. But thats only from what ive also been told. Im not a scientist.

Infrared radiation is basically heat. So yes, too much infrared can be damaging - like standing too close to the fire.
