Yes and I'll tell you why. About 19 years ago, my husband and I fell on hard times. Our cupboards were bare and our fridge was empty. We went to social services and were denied before we could even fill out an application for help. We went to the Salvation Army and explained our situation. We left their office with 4 large grocery sacks of food. I rang bells at Christmas for 5 years after that and have put money in the red bucket every year.

Yes. After the tornado in 1996, I realized how much help the Salvation Army and American Red Cross provided.

I can't honestly remember the last time I did. But I can't remember when I saw the Salvation Army last either. I do get an overwhelming sense of guilt at Christmas though, when I see so many homeless people. There we are, worrying about which gift to get whoever. Madness!

I do but only because my daughter likes to. The Salvation Army in our town never ever ever has any money. All day long I refer people to them who need help with things my agency doesn't offer and they never have any funds. They also don't have any guidelines I have seen them turn away a pregnant young girl only to give a hotel voucher to a single man. It's crazy.

I donate what I can when I can. I don't have a lot but if people say I'm being mean I just point out that I've been a blood donor since 1983 and we get paid for it in the UK

I've never come across one but I put money in collection buckets all the time. I collect for charity myself and it's horrible to be ignored!
