I know it's an odd question but I recently watched a show on the end of the world and have been thinking about it.

Check on the year 2012. It has the distinction of being the year of choice for a number of ancient and non-christian sources including the Mayan.

Also, don't forget the Apocalypse was supposed to happen in 67 AD (CE) and guess what, it didn't. Look at the Essenes, the prototype of Christianity and you see a frothing madman who is credited with writing the good book. Unless you are still waiting for a messiah, it is probably of no more import than the latest from Ann Coulter: "Of course I believe in the death penalty, what I don't understand is why then, is Michael Moore still alive.

That means we have at least 5 years to party!! So, an optimist would carry on as usual whilst creating a safe environment.

Doomsayers have been predicting the end of the World since forever. It has yet to come true. During your own life time Nostradamus predicted: In 1999 the great king of terror will come from the sky... Y-2K was also another end times prediction that didn't pan out. For as long as they've been around (circa 1872 to the present) the JWs have been predicting the end of the world and have yet to get it right. Of course, now they have developed mass amnesia, of course, I remember them going door-to-door scaring some people half to death.

So don't let the doom-sayers take away your peace of mind. Nothing will happen in 2012 either. Remember, the people who invented the Mayan Calendar failed to predict their own demise and they were not concerned with an unknown people living in the 21st. Century. The year 2012 is just as far as got in their calendar making before they were overrun by enemies, plague or some other natural disaster. Remember, they were chiseling away at stone, not computer generating their calendars.

Best.

The Christians have been worried about it happening, in their lifetime, for about 1800 years. For something they are supposed to look forward to, they've sure drug out the thing for its fear factor.

After all that time the Christians have one of two possible answers that that make any sense. The first is the apocalypse will come in several billion years, when the Sun gives up. The second answer is that it is just another fraud to get converts and their money.

The apocalypse means the world is going to end, correct? Are you sure it doesn't mean the world is going to end as we know it, as in a new age vastly different from the way things are now will happen?

I had a dream that in 2010 something horrid will happen in America affecting the rest of the world. 2012 would only be two years after 2010, which could be the domino. As far as the world ending, I don't think it will end. In my opinion, it will vastly change or evolve.

Bottom line it is a very sensitive subject and gives people something to really think about but if it happens worrying about it is not gonna make matters any better. We just have to live our life day by day and love those around us. We cant control it if it does happen so just put it out of your mind.

I was scared when I was in highschool, the talk of the y2k really had me worried lol.
I astral traveled sometime that year and met Jesus-who took my hand and I asked him "Are you really coming back?"
and he said
"I never left?"

He then told me how life never stops.
I got a sense of peace and not one of doomsday. I believe there's no end of the world, at least none in our time.
