Just curious: if a woman, who is able to work, and her youngest child is less than 6 months away from turning 18, is it true she cannot get on Metropolitan Housing (OH) and will lose her food stamps, once the child turns 18.

No, it may not be true. Usually the child has to REACH 18 before any funding is re-evaluated. By the loss of the dependent child, her qualifying income level gets MUCH higher. So yes, she CAN lose her eligibility, but not all the time.
