Zebras are white with black stripes. The reason for this is because their is a fly in Africa that would kill a Zebra if it was able to see it. Because of the black and white stripes it is not able to see the Zebra. If the Zebra is bitten by the fly it will get sick and die.

As the first responder stated, zebras are black with white stripes.
It is interesting to note that very few, if any animals, have white as their natural color. Think how many animals you can name.
Note: Polar bears aren't actually white. Their hairs are translucent (like a rain drop). They reflect the color of their environment. Polar bears in warmer climates have been known to have a greenish hue due to the algae growing.
