Jealousy. Love them or hate them, the Yankees are the greatest, most successful sports franchise in history. There are very few people on the planet that don't recognize the Yankees logo.
Besides, who would even care about baseball if it weren't for the Yankees - Red Sox rivalry?

The Yankees are like that kid playing the baseball video game that goes online and finds the cheat code so he can buy up all the best players. They just use their huge income to buy up all the best players from other teams. Then their fans act like it's something special when they actually win the World Series, even though they should really never lose since they pretty much always have the best team on paper. So mostly it's a combination or them abusing the absence of a salary cap, and their fans acting like the Yankees are God's gift to baseball, instead of the snot nosed kid with the cheat code.

Because George Steinbrenner thinks he can buy a World Series championship. However, many of the players he bought lack character. I hate the Yankees, but I respect Jeter, Posada, and Rivera. But I don't care for the mercenaries like Giambi, Clemens, Abreu, and Damon.
The Yankees used to stand of class and character; the way Steinbrenner talks about firing Joe Torre proves to me why his team is hated.

I'm rooting for them tonight so they can have a game 5, I hope they lose game 5 though. Nothing wrong with the Yankees I suppose, I don't like all the money they spend though, its ridiculous. And yankee fans are arrogane, always think they are hot s hit because the Yanks win all the time. To bad they don't give rings to Yankees fans though because their losers like the rest of us.

i'm from around kansas city, people here have a deep seated and legitimate reason to hate the yankees. way back in the 50's, a businessman named arnold johnson, moved the then philadelphia a's, to kansas city just for them to serve as a farm team for the yankees, he had no qualms about developing talent in kansas city, just to "trade" them to the yanks for washed up players.
look it up.
the yanks use every excuse in the book when they lose, .

Well...I'm mostly annoyed at what Alex said after he left Texas. Then the Rangers crap *** mangement signed him to a ridiculous amount of money and we had to pay NYY. Also..I'm a Red Sox fan. Same reason why people hate the sox.. it's the rivialry. The attitude..the bandwagoners. Some of their fans are assholes..it's annoying.

Cause they get every player they want and still suck and their fans are the biggest @ssholes ever. They boo Roger Clemens after a bad start even after all he has done for the team.
