Try some ant sand and sprinkle it around and they'll take it back to their hide out and it'll finish them pesky critters off.

go to drugstore and buy a bottle of Boric acid. It's a powder that's safe around pets, but like everything else, be careful using it around kids. Sprinkle some of the powder in areas you see the ants. As the ants walk thru the powder it picked up on their legs. They carry it back to the nest and it kills the ant eggs. You have to be patient because it takes about 3-4 weeks before you notice there are no more ants.
To stop more ants coming into your house looking for water or food make sure you have all foods and liquids cleaned up.

One thing our exterminator does is remove the lightswitch plate and electrical socket covers and sprays in there. You might try that. Go to Home Depot or Lowes and get some ant spray. They have big containers of it and the containers have flexible hoses with sprayers on the end. That will allow you to get behind the sockets and switchplates and other nooks and crannies that you can't spray into with a can of Raid. Good luck. Ants suck. We're battling them all the time here too.

But those little ant huts. I dont know what they are called but they are little cases that have a special smell that attracts the ants to them and the ants go in and get the sticky food, bring it to their home and all the other ants eat it and it kills them all. Sorry but i dont know what its called!!It might be by Raid too?? You just put it on your floor in a corner.

looking for something easy and cheap? i just had ants a week ago and couldn't find where they were coming from. i was told BABY POWDER would do the trick so i sprikled it on the ants i saw as well as the general direction in which they were traveling and they disapeared in less than an hour. if u don't have baby powder try some scented talc, it ought to do the trick. hope that was helpful.

Not sure what they are called either. I've heard they are 'Sugar ants...or Piss ants'....all I know is they .. p i s s .. me off. Best thing to do is place ant bait for them. Buy it at hardware store. Especially at this time of year when they head inside for winter. They are limited on hunting for food...so make sure counters are clean and bait is set out everywere you have seen them. It will kiil them off over the next few weeks.

See if you can follow their trail back to their nest and if you find it pour boiling water down it. Place ant baits around your house to take care of the ones already inside. I know what you mean about them driving you crazy. You could also try spraying insecticide around your perimeter.

I would call an exterminator. They will find the source. You can't get rid of them by spraying or setting out traps. They have developed a nest and the nest has to be exterminated and sealed.
