With Intel macs (i.e. the current ones) you can just install windows or you can run wine on Mac OS X (which should be able to handle some windows games).

On PPC macs you will need an emulator to run windows games (and windows itself first) and nothing even close to modern will run at a half decent speed (and the virtual machines don't do 3D graphics very well either).

Ports of PC games do sometimes make their way to the mac but not many and usually quite a bit later than the PC version (often later than a Linux port).

For old DOS games you can use dosbox to run them on pretty much anything and powerful computers should be able to emulate almost anything that DOS games actually ran on fast enough to be playable.

If your mac has an intel processor, you can install windows on it, then run PC games. If it has a powerpc, you can't install windows. You may be able to run games in a pc emulator if your computer is powerful enough. Also(if your mac has an intel processor) you can run SOME games through WINE. Macs aren't that great for gaming
