As much as i love Johnny B's answers, i have my own interpretation .
i belive we are the lucky couple of cells, (no matter how shittty we have made this earth) who have been given a chance at creating something bigger than themselves. we are here to experiment, experience, and exercise our beliefs, and i am not talking about religion. i mean values, those that will make us better as we go. life is an experience and nothing more. its a chance to hit or miss. where we're going however, i do not know yet.
also, for those who thnk of life as "birth, eat, mate, die"
they skipped aLOT of opportunities.
we only mate to give someone else a chance.

We are Manifestations of the collective soul.
We are here to experience life through this physical manifestation of the soul.
Were are supposed to do, whatever we end up having done, when we do, whatever we did. This will be aware when we shed this mortal coil and return home to "remanifest" ourselves again.
We are going where we already are, just as you have always asked that question, I have always answered it. The route is the destination.

As a recent writer (I can't remember his name) surmised, No one knows for sure: Where we came from., Why we are here., or Where we are going. As for what we are supposed to do that is anything you want to do within your ability in so long as it harms no one else. That last is by popular demand.

we are what ever we want to be... privileged creatures with a great weight on their shoulders... intelligence and a great need to transcend. I guess we are in charge of finding our own place in Earth... and there are just a few who accomplish that. where are we going? to the very core of creation: God himself, there's not any other way, even if you're not a believer

We are these little creatures with enormous brains. We are running around in circles for a brief moment...thinking soooooo much with our mutated mess of nerves that we keep under our hair. We think everything in our tiny lives is soooo important but it's so very fast..... slow to us though. Us and our enormous brains.

We are human beings - homo sapiens sapiens, although I tend to feel the appellation is a bit overstated. We are here to learn, grow, and progress. We are stewards of the mother earth who gave us life. we are going to corporeal death, to a place of rest and enlightenment, to set new goals and return to progress further, or to our final reward of being united with divine intelligence.
