I bought a new samsung wireless phone. When i try to make a call all it says is emergency calls only

That usually happens when there is little to no reception. It also occurs if you have not inserted the SIM card on the phone (little chip, usually goes behind the battery). If neither is the case, return the phone to AT&T immediately, citing malfunctioning antenna (providers usually have a grace period to exchange free of charge).

These days phones are more and more like computers. Take the battery out of the phone while it's on and replace it. Turn your phone back on. What this does is give it a good restart. It needs to communicate with the towers so give it a few and try your call again. If it's acting up, warranty number for att is 18008011101. Hope that helps!

You need to get it activated by a cell-phone provider.
If you thought you did, call their help-desk or go back to store.

Put the sims card in it!!! Once you have a sims card you can call people

your sim card is either not installed or it is installed wrong. try taking it out and putting it back in, it should work.

your SIM card isnt installed-- if you cant figure out how to do it, bring it to the store and they can do it for you
