It was 1948, and i bought a 1929 Buick for $25. I learned to drive by driving it home. No license, no insurance,and learning to drive. If I had gotten caught, I`de still be in jail. I don`t recommend it. The roof leaked but we went everywhere in it. When it broke down, I had to fix it. worked out OK though,I was a mechanic for 38 years because of it.

My dad bought me my first car he says for 2000 but i think he got it for like 13 dollars it was a Mercury Comet

My parents matched me. 5 grand me me and 5 from them. I didn't get my first car until I was 20. I needed something reliable bc I was moving away.
I still have and LOVE my 1999 baby Accord!

$200....lol....it was kind of a agift bcuz my brothers friend needed 2 get rid of it bcuz he got a new one....its a subaru legacy 1997...leather interior, radio, a/c heat, sunroof...works good for me!...but if i could i would probably get a 5,000 dollar car which is kinda reasonable for a first car.
