and isn't it your moms job to clean your room and do your homework and cook and take you everywhere??? I think that you are old enough to help out a little. Just think about all the things that your mom does for you in a day... is one or two loads of laundry a week too much for you to do to help her out a little. So yes, I think a 13 yr old can do her own laundry.

My 9 & 11 yr olds can do their own laundry. Why should it be your mom's job? Who wears the clothes - you or her?
About half of the time I do the laundry but when things are busy or when they decide to change a million times a day they do their own. I know a lot of teens who always do their own laundry.

It's a good thing to know how to do. Your mom probably just wants to teach you responsibility. If you start doing your laundry now, your mom is probably gonna trust you more with other things in the future, seeing as you're more responsible. Besides, if you're doing your own laundry, then you can wash your clothes when you want and not worry about having a certain shirt or pair of pants dirty when you want to wear them.

Not necessarily. You shouldn't be responsible for all household chores but doing you own laundry is not a bad deal. Trust me it could be worse. And definitely will be when you are old enough to move out. So just think of it as practice!

Yes a 13 year old should do her own laundry....and the dishes, and anything else that needs to be done. I'm sure your mother has enough to do already.

Your mother's job is to teach you how to be a responsible adult. In order for her to teach you, you have to be willing to learn. And laundry is one of those things. Laundry just has to be done. I had to start doing my laundry when I was 10 b/c my mom was disabled. It wont be so bad, just be willing to learn, and read the washing instructions on the tag if you are not sure.

Yes you should. The way I was raised, you shouldn't have to, but you should. It showsresponsibility and being mature. My mother wouldn't let me do my own laundry until I was 12. I really wanted to do it too.

If I were you, I'd take a good.....long.........look.......... at your mom's "job". Just what all does she do in a typical day? Can you even try to imagine it all?
How selfish of you to think that she should do your laundry. If she feels she needs help, she most probably does. Get off your duff and help your mom out. It's time you learned some responsibility.
