Our lives have meaning and worth when we live for a real purpose. Real purpose requires God:
“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (20th century philosopher, mathematician and Nobel Laureate)
So without God, our lives have no purpose, no meaning, no worth. Without God, you were not born for a purpose.
"life then is what you make of it - you were not 'born for a purpose' - it's up to you entirely. "
This quote from the second answer is typical of the process that we have to go through if we don't live for a real purpose. We have to invent activities that focus us on little bits of happiness and keep us busy so that we forget about a meaningless existence. This is a process of self deception. This is a process that never completely satisfies us.
But if we admit that God might exist, we can see that He must have put our great need for meaning into our human nature in order to point us to seek Him. That is one of the fundamental Christian ideas.
Christians ought to seek God by obeying His command to love our neighbors for where love is, there God is also.

This is not a valid question. Since it assumes that life does have meaning, implying that all we need do is to select from an infinite list of possible meanings to provide an answer.
However, meaning cannot exist before sentience. The universe existed before sentience. Life therefore has no meaning.
This does not mean you should not give meaning to you life. You must. Just look for meaning inside yourself not outside.

you were born as a result of yr parents having sex. life then is what you make of it - you were not 'born for a purpose' - it's up to you entirely. No-one will help you, time goes by fast, there is no meaning except what you create. dont be fooled by any pap to any other effect. Once you accept the above, you will be free. the above is not depressing but freeing and exhilarating. dare to be nothing - dare to be yourself. put in and life will give back. make efforts. try hard. be hard-headed and realistic about your plans - n0othing worthwhile is easy but other people have done difficult things so you can too.

it has a different meaning for everyone.
i think life is an experiment- that we were all put on this earth by God (my religion) but just to observe what humans will do when put in contact with many other of their kind.
or, the meaning of life is death. we're born, we live, we die. do we make an impact on the world?
