I need to know the date and time that my computer was shut down. Is there somewhere in my computer's history where I can find that out?

How would I go about doing this and where do I look?

I'm horrible with computers, so anything would help! : )

Yes there is, go to Start, then go to Control Panel, then go to Performance and Maintenance, then click on Administrative Tools, then open Event Viewer. on the left hand side click on System Here you will see a log of everything on your computer regarding processes and errors, it wont directly say shut down, but you will see a list of processes and next to it the day and time, from here you can infer on the last process and then when a new process started, you will see a big gap in time and that is when your computer was off. There will be a cronological order and times and then you will see a gap of time, the last time before the gap is when your computer was turned off.

I believe checking about the reboot is a bit more difficult for a beginner and probably isn't something you shouldn't be messing with. but i think its in your bio's.

but you might want to look under accessories in windows. and system restore isn't the same thing. it just tells you the last time you RESTORED you computer ..and by the sounds of it you haven't done that. but if you are having problems with you comp. then you might want to DO A RESTORE. which is basically putting it back to the settings BEFORE you had problems with your computer.

I'm not really sure if you can. If you need to, you might want to look under "history" in documents, although I don't know how that can help you.
