Is it true? Then, why do they??? Seriously, even older guys in their 30s and 40s -- I don't know if this guy is interested in me, but he acts mean to me sometimes. Other times, he's gracious and sweet.

I just don't understand guys and why they act mean to women they're interested in. Guys...Please explain! Thanks

Only if they are immature. That's what little children do, not grown men.

What the ****? First of all, guys do not act mean toward women they're interested in. Guys either act really awkward because they are in awe by your presence or act really nice to make a good impression on you. The only time guys are mean/possessive towards girls are when they are afraid that they might lose you. The term that describes this behavior can either be jealousy (when it's near other guys) or insecurity (when he doubts himself).

Immaturity has nothing to do with it. It is jealousy. If you see your husband/boyfriend flirting/touching other girls, would you be mad? Yes. But does that make you immature? Probably not.

It depends on the situation. Sometimes it's because the guys don't like the women and other times it's because they're attracted to them, but for some reason or other, they don't want to show it.

Not all guys act like that. Find a guy who acts nice to women he likes...that's a good indicator of how he'll treat you when you're dating.

Here are the possible answers:
*He is immature and has issues that need to be worked out.
*He is trying to seem masculine and impress you with his "toughness," and does not realize that his "toughness" is really the most unbecoming behavior in the universe.
*He is very shy around you and doesn't know what else to say other than a rude comment in an uncomfortable situation.
My advice? Talk to him about it and see what is really going on. Also, observe these situations where he seems to be immature and insulting. Where are you? When is it? There may be a certain circumstance that makes him uncomfortable. I know you will probably be like, "Say what? Why should I baby this slob?" when I tell you this, but if you see a pattern with where and when this happens, try to be extra understanding and calm to make him more at ease and he might start to show his true colors. Hope I helped!!!!!

Yeah -- sounds like a great guy to me!! He's already showing you how THAT relationship would be. So if you all start dating and he keeps up that behaviour, enjoy it because you know what you're getting into. If you are an adult, you should know better than to get yourself into something like that.

I have pondered this question since high school, and I'm an old man. There were several boys who absolutely treated girls like crap. Yet these same girls would crawl on their knees on broken glass to be with him. Try something:next time he's mean to you, tell him to go f himself ,and mean it. Email me and let me know what happened.

It is quite simple. They are immature and only doing what they know best...acting out like a 4 year old. OR...there is the theory that some of them ACTUALLY believe that women like assholes.

Yes but only young boys or immature men. Real, mature men know that in order to hook a well-balanced, whole and attractive lady there needs to be respect and honor first.

Let me guess... when he is around other people he is mean, when you are alone he is nice. That is just an insecure male trying to show you he does care. Your time will come and then he will jump at your every request.
