Hubbie brought one home without knowing anything about it. Thought our betta needed company. (It didn't.) Anyway, I've been reading that rasboras need to be with other rasboras. Anyone have experience keeping just one? Thanks!

As you read, Rasboras are active schoolers, and without their group, they will become stressed, and possibly lash out at your Betta. It would be best if you took the Rasbora back. 2.5 gallons isn't really enough room for any fish but your Betta. If you want to get it some "companions", check out some shrimp. Ghost Shrimp, Red Cherry Shrimp, Amano Shrimp, and Singapore Shrimp are all good options that will scurry around the bottom of the tank eating bits of leftover food and algae. Email me if you have any questions.

EDIT: One Rasbora isn't enough. A school is a minimum of 5 fish of the same species... 2 Rasboras will just mean extra trouble for the Betta.
