I separate loads of laundry by color, not by item. So yes, towels and tshirts and underwear might all be in the same load if they are all white or all bright or all light pastel kinds of colors.

You need to separate your loads or you could find your underwear or your t-shirts a multitude of different colors should bleeding occur. Whites should never be mixed. Different fabrics require different settings and some require bleach. Read your cleaning labels and wash and dry according to the directions.

If its lacy lingerie I'd wash it separately , but I'd never wash my underwear with jeans. Also I NEVER NEVER wash towels with clothes even if they are all white. Towels have too much lint.
