Why do I have such horrid short term memory? I mean with long term, I'm fine. But my short term just isn't worth crap imo. For example, I could place something on a table and think I'll come back for it in a second, then I completely forget about it----which causes me to lose a lot of valuable things...:(

What can I do to get better short term memory? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I think this happens with many of us and there probably a word for it. I try to explain how I understand it. I use keys for example. When we do something like lay the keys on a table, we forget. If, this where we always lay the keys, we remember. When we place something down and it not the normal place, it not register in memory as we tend not to place it there. It like a "Word" document. If, we lay the keys in a new place we must do a "Save As" (Keys on the table). In other words you have to learn to think at that time, "I lay the keys on the table" to store it into memory. Most times we do it without thought and not remember. When we look for the keys, we usually look where we always put them.
