I just missed a big opportunity. It was right in front of my nose, but I just didn't see it. How do you get over this feeling. Look past it. How? Remember those days when you set your expectations high, and the you were hit with reality? What did you do? The feeling of excitement and happiness left you. We are all human. I'm sure we experienced this.

You take a step back and realize under the circumstances, you couldn't have done any better.
You then go on with things and have faith that another opportunity will come back and this time you will be ready.

I do not see how the feeling of regret at not having gone through something can be eliminated; the regret really is because, invariably, it is taken for granted that, had the experience been gone through, it would have turned out to be just as we hoped it would. But we find that most often we regret the outcome even of what we go through .

If we act there is regret at the outcome, and if we don't act there is regret at there being no outcome. The dream not having been shattered yet by reality is ever kept alive, unrealized. The regret arises from the 'certainty' that it would have turned out just as expected and there is no reality to check it against, so it lives on.

I know it's easier said than done, yet you can get a much better perspective. New opportunities will come, and you will be better armed with foresight from experience.

For me, using my sense of humor. One day, amidst running through regret, I started a satirical comedy routine with myself, that started off something like:
"Oh, you just KNOW if you think about this one more time, you will CERtainly change the past."
I laughed and it dawned how much I was wasting brain space on attempting time travel.

Best of luck!

I try to look to necessity when I feel overwhelmed with an emotion. I look at what is the graceful way to take defeat and I try to take the loss well, because I know this is as important as winning in life.

Your biggest regret would be lying on your death bed regretting your regrets.

Life is too short. Learn a lesson. Move on.
