I have a dvd burner on my dell desktop. All of a sudden, it will not open. Is there a way to fix this without going to a pc repair place ?

Hi. Most drives have a tiny hole that you can insert a small diameter pin into to open the drive in an emergency. Use a paper clip if you have one.

open up the side of your case and be sure that the power cable is plugged into your burner. if not, get a paperclip and push it in the tiny hole on your burner and it will manually open it up. this DOES NOT mean that your burner will work once you close it.

somethings not connect right. Use a paperclip...find the tiny hole on the front, it will manually eject it!
