i do not get geometry. the teacher says the only way to be successful in the class is to memorize every theorem and postulate but theres like 200!! i really don't think its my fault though. last year i got an A in math because the teacher always gave detailed notes, labeled things, and spent time on things we didnt understand. this year all the teacher does is write examples on the board, the examples she uses are from the book so we already have the answers, and she just says read the lesson and do problems.... i fail like all tests i tried askin for help but i just dont get it its not like im not trying also sometimes i dont have time to read every single lesson i think she should tell us whats in the lesson in class or whats the point of the class. so is it really all my fault? and what can i do to fix this?

You probably won't like this, but if you are tasked to do proofs, then you must memorize the theorems and postulates. You simply cannot prove anything if you don't have the facts at your beck and call.

Fortunately, each chapter should only present you a new handful. Know those ... really know those ... and the next ones will be easier.

For the parts of Geometry that involves Algebra, then the teacher will show and demonstrate the methods you've already learned in Algebra I last year. So, that part of it shouldn't be overly difficult, I hope.

Me neither! I did lousy in Geometry. I failed the tests as I'd just write down the final answers, which were correct. My teacher wanted the reason behind each step in solving the problems. If you want to pass the tests, memorize the steps and all of the theorems and postulates. If you want to impress your teacher, disprove them! That's what I did, so I pulled a B in the class. The point of the class is to play pool better, cut pizza pies perfectly, drive fast from point A to point B, design buildings, and so on and so forth. There are lots of practical applications in life to geometry. I cannot answer all of your questions, but I am letting you know that geometry is important in your life.

yes it is partially your fault. but what i believe is you have what is known in the business as a lazy halfassed teacher who doesnt really teach but just knows how to photocopy **** out of a book and then calls it teaching.
