I wouldn't worry about it. I guarantee you aren't going to be the only on that looks awful. The people won't really be able to tell though, they might see some lipstick but that's it, just lipstick and your face! I'm currently doing a musical at my school, where I am an immigrant, so on top of all the crazy makeup, I have to look dirty! And this means ALOT of dirt so you can actually see it from the audience.

It's not very flattering but you know what, I rock it! ^.^ And you can too! No worries. Just lipstick and your face.

It's called Stage Makeup sweety.
Don't worry, it's the only way the audience will see your face at all (especially the people way in the back). There will be heavy lights on you which would cause your natural features to blend into a blank face. So the way that the 'stage' has to combat that is to overly bring out what's already there so it can be viewed by the entire audience. I'd like for you to look up pictures of Showgirls then look up pictures of Showgirls on stage, you'll see yourself that the further away the girl is the less you can see her face but you see the makeup which lets you know where her facial features are.

Put up with it. The reason stage makeup is so heavy is because 1- the stage lights wash out your complexion and you need this to not look really white and sickly, and 2- most of the audience is a big distance from you and can't see as well, so you have to wear alot in darker shades than normal. It's just one show and I promise you don't look the same on stage as you do close up in your mirror. Just be sure to wash your face really well after the show.

Wow, this is so funny. The junior high dance team at my school as the same problem!

Solution-

*Put the make-up on like normal. Then, for the lipstick (which is the main problem) rub your lips togeth a lot. It will soften the color and not look so hookerish. As for the other make-up, you shouldn't look too bad. Just make sure the lipstick is light.*

Hope I helped!

the others are right, this must be your first show. show makeup has to be strong and bold, you're even supposed to use a foundation 2 shades darker than your own so that people in the audience can see you. bold colors make your features show up, say you pout--the bright red will look normal and your expression will be seen, not washed out. trust me...if you were, in fact, a hooker in the show it'd be ALOT worse, trust me! ;)

Just apply a lighter layer of the makeup & don't worry too much. It's stage makeup & you'll be seen from a distance so it'll look different to the people in the audience.

When you're onstage, people can't see your makeup!! The lights will wash you out, so you'll look normal onstage. Just wash it off before you come out of the dressing room and you'll be fine. Don't worry- everyone has to wear it!
