Little different. Eventually someone would have crossed the ocean in one direction or the other and initiated first contact. Disease would have ravaged the Americas, whatever else happened, and the cultures of the western hemisphere would still have collapsed, opening the way for European settlement.

There are two answers to your question. First, if Columbus had not discovered the new world, some one else would have. The Europeans were waiting to do it, and the new world was lying there, blocking the way to "India." Henry the Navigator and Vasco de Gama of Portugal were the first to explore beyond Europe.
The second answer to your question is that Spain and France might have worn themselves out in Europe on useless wars of religion. England might then have become the sole master of the Americas. In the 1490's, Henry VII gave John Cabot 10 pounds for claiming new land for him in North America.

First of all, Columbus never set foot on 'American' soil, he landed in what we now call the West Indies. He was looking for India, sailed west from Spain...hence the name West Indies. America would probably be the same as we now know it as the Europeans would eventually have landed here. It just may have taken longer to develop.

He did not discover it. The Indians (Native Americans) were already here.
