I don't. Negative news will sell better then positive news so I'm sure the positive news is never reported. I listen to what my service member friends in Iraq say. They are a far better source then the media.

Yes Mama. You are just like the media. You only give part of the story and not the whole picture. I would rather have the big picture and not what somebody chooses for me to have. However I did find an article that is very good.

Editorially back in the US, or in Australia, then I would say NO.

As for the journalists in the field, they most often try their best to report accurately as possible. Their trouble is that the US military has made reporting combat extremely difficult compared with the freedoms the media had during the latter stages of the Second Indochina (Vietnam) War, or even earlier with Korea or WW-2.
The US military do not give accreditation to newsmen who are willing to go out into combat without permission. The military also likes to "embed" journalists into certain units and this makes for biased reporting.

Of course the media isn't honest. Have you ever being in journalism? It's called editing, leaving things out, emphasising things, getting promoted, getting it published, sticking to the ideological stance of your paper/radio/TV.
But wth did you get that there's not enough positive news about Iraq? I don't know what your service members from Iraq say, but my refugee friends from Iraq don't really think living there is much of a holiday, or love Americans much for that matter. So there at least the media was a tad more accurate than ya fellas in the army.
No, I am not just like the media. My area is strategic studies, and before you go saying Iraq is a massive success I suggest you study some strategy. I just know what the media is like.

>> The media, regardless of what they are reporting on, have vested interests & is a humungus propaganda machine.
Take 2 news reports on the same subject from 2 different countries & you will see what I mean.
Ciao!
