i found it next to by chair at Johnnie's Pizza and my friend carved it with a kinda pointy butter kinfe. then we took 3-4 seeds and but soil and the seeds in a plastic cup. we water it and stuff and it stays on my porch. well i just watered it and i saw a TON of ants in it. anybody know why?

Probably because the soil you used already had the ants in it or the ants simply found their way into the cup. Ants are always on the hunt for food.

It could be that the cup you used wasn't clean or it could be that the bits of pumpkin clinging to the seeds has attracted the ants to it. This is the most likely and an easy way to get rid of them is to sprinkle red pepper over the top of the ground.
