I live in Alaska and we get ads for Sonic constantly. I do not know where the nearest Sonic is but I do know it is very far away from Alaska.

According To Wikipedia "Sonic has also become known for advertising nationally in areas of the country several years before their restaurants arrive." So There You Go Sonic Will Come Sometime But Maybe Not For A Few Years.

There are 2 possibilities:
1) They are planning on building one soon so they have given the go ahead to advertise there
2) This is a station sponsered by another city or state where there is a sonic.
I live in a small town and this happens all the time for a variety of things; its always one of the 2.

I live in Central Cali and they do the same thing here. I think Sonic plans to expand in the near-far future so they are throwing advertisements everywhere so that there will be more people knowledgeable about them. But they are stupid!!!!!

i live in DC and get the ads here... and there is NO sonic here too! i think it's because sonic isn't really targeting specific areas, know what i mean? they're just running their ads through the cable company and don't have control over the exact distribution. it is annoying. and sad because sonic has the best strawberry limeaid ever and i crave it when i see their ads!

Yes I find that very annoying there is none in MN,but yet they have commercials here.It makes people angry especially if the food looks good & you'll have to leave where you live to where a sonic is.It's a conspiracy if you think about it,they shouldn't advertise it where there isn't any there.

ha im in central nc and there are sonics everyyyyywhere and i mean i could go walking to one right now haha in fact its like 5 minutes by walkin lol and ya the foods pretty awesome
But oddly enough i never get ads for sonic....

Well, I'm in Rapid City SoDak, and We constantly had commercials for Sonic, but then we got one and now they never show the ads for it. Bazaar I know

Because you're either watching a nationally broadcasted cable network, or, sonic is moving in to some town somewhere around you. I'd think it is the former.

The advertising companies send out the coupons and gimmicks to the newspaper companies. Usually, the companies have a specific zip code in mind and the "package" they get would have zips they aren't interested in. They are spreading their net too wide, my guess is so that they will not miss anyone in their target area. But I guess no one is perfect!
