Yes, I did hear that, except for the part about him being "irate". he's supposed to have reinjured his hamstring (he is 45 years old now), so why not make a roster spot for a left handed reliever which the Yankees lack (Ron Villone)?
Besides, if the Yankees do advance to the ALCS, they could bring Clemens back. Honestly though, I think he's turned a corner, he should just walk away at this point. Just my opinion.

Yeah, i just read that too.
If he's irate he should check his ego first.
They only thing that i respect about him has been his longevity, but come on enough is enough.
His waiting this year as to retiring and then signing that huge contract is proof positive that he's only out for himself.
Why were the Yankees that desperate for a starting pitcher???
After seeing him in Game 1 of the 2005 WS with Houston, this is like de javu all over again.

I did not hear that! I know he is older than your average player, but he still can come through. I hope they let him play if they get to the World Series this year. I think he purposely came back to NY to retire as a NY Yankee which I am pretty sure he will do after this season ends. But my first thought when I read your post was "Bummer!"

Wow...I hadn't heard. The Yankees were counting on Clemens in the post season and well he screwed up yesterday...
I have a funny feeling that this will be the end of his career. If he didn't see it coming...he must be blind...

Pride is an incredible thing...It can drive one to do things otherwise thought impossible...Roger has in the Past shown ALOT of pride, that being said I too think its time to For the Rocket to shut off the Boosters....and get towed back into the Silo....

No it does not surprise me at all.I think it is a good move.He did not pitch very good last night at all.Torre's got to think of the team not the individual.I think Roger will be very mad.I think Roger should of retired a couple of years ago and stayed retired.

This also just in.....he should have retired a couple years ago
(No slam on Clemens. He has had a great career, but should have quit while he was ahead)

I think it will be the end of his career. He's hurt and he is just too old now. He should just give up baseball and be glad he had a good career as baseball player. He is the Brett Farve in baseball, but Farve is actually good and isn't hurt.

Well its a new rule that since he was dropped in the alds he is off the alcs as well.
Can't come back unless they get to the world series.
Hopefully they are done tonight.

Yeah, Ron Villone is taking his spot on the roster.
I guess all that money they gave him kinda backfired. That's why you don't give a 43-year-old that much money in MLB...unless you want him to manage.
