I have them all the time, and I have dogs, so you think they would not, this year has been a bad year for the snakes, think the drought has drove them out of the Field looking for mice around the house. I found a 6 foot snake skin by the trash cans, told the girls I take the trash out from now on until it gets cooler.

When I was a kid me and my best friend would go out hunting for Gardner snakes in our local woods here. He was better at catching them then I was. He knew the right places to find them. While walking along the Delaware canal towpath you see all kinds resting on the rocks near the water. They really never have bothered me though.

The important thing to know is which ones are venomous and which aren't. A pretty good rule of thumb is, if it's got a triangular head, it's venomous.

Find out what king snakes and corn snakes look like. They're handy to have around, will curb you're rodent population, and are non-venomous.

Creepy? I used to catch garden snakes all the time! I wish we did have them in the city! I want to a private Christian school in the burbs, that was built on an old swamp, and there was all sorts of interesting wild life out there.

Wanna trade?

When I used to live out in God's country I would see them all the time. Nothin' a 12GA. wouldn't take care of. Now that I live in the city I don't think the neighbors would take to kindly to me going on " snake patrol ".

Yeah. My cats started hissing at it, I was more scared of the cats then I was of the snake! At least the snake was outside.
