Click on the I’m Feeling Lucky button on Google’s home page to go directly to the first result for your query. Instead of showing you a list of pages, Google sends you immediately to the result that may be most relevant to your query.

It means that you are feeling lucky, you will go with whatever it comes up with FIRST. Otherwise, you get to select from the ENTIRE batch. Say you want to find information of the Mayflower; the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button will return the results of whatever sites it finds first; otherwise, it will return ALL results of "Mayflower".
Since most people browse only the first page of returns, it proably does not make much difference.

Click It.
I just did. it says:
The "I'm Feeling LuckyTM" button automatically takes you to the first web page returned for your query.
An "I'm Feeling Lucky" search means less time searching for web pages and more time looking at them.

When you click it, you will be directed to the first search result that pops up when you type in whatever it is you searched. It means you're feeling pretty lucky that you've typed in the right words, essentially, and that you're gonna get exactly what you want as the first result.... or that you just know the first result will do.

It means you are feeling lucky and the button will take you exactly where you want to go. It takes you automatically to the first website that shows up, for those of us who think clicking the mouse is too hard...haha. Pretty snazzy right?

I basically takes whatever comes up first if you were to do a normal search
this has lead to halarious searches.
At one point, George W Bush would come up first if you searched for failure, so the i'm feeling lucky button would take you straight there.

it takes you to the website hosted by the major item searched.
Example, if you type "cars" and hit search, it will give you a bunch of searches, but if you press the "im feeling lucky" button it will take you to www.cars.com
makes sense?

You get a good karma effect like winning a lottery.
Press it and have good luck!
Just kidding!
It a plain old trick that web designer used to get people to use Google search more often than Yahoo.
