Yes, it's true. I the last days of the war, when he realised that all was lost, he shot his mistress (Eva Braun), his dog (Blondi) and himself in his bunker under Berlin.

well history says that he did. But then again there are those who believe too that he escaped and it was a twin that killed himself.

as for depression, I think it was 41-42, that was because due to the depression and the need to make war goods, we nearly went bankrupt over the war. The need for war bonds was that great.

This is absolutely true. He just couldn't believe that his idealogy had failed. I believe the Great Depression was most severe during its first year.
