It's all about the ginger :-) I just put some in my Butternut squash/apple bake, that we had with dinner tonight. Ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon all spell FALL! I can't wait till the end of this week. The weather folks are promising days in the 60's instead of the 90's...smells like a big old pot of soup to me:-)

No, not at all. I don't like gingersnap cookies all that much.
I think of a nip in the air, and wearing a jacket again. I think
of the turning leaves, which they do so fast and soon they fall.
Right now, you see them in hues of red, yellow and gold,
and orange. Mostly the Maples tho.
I think of cooking things with the windows steaming over.
And I think of good smells from the kitchen that linger through
the evening. I think of baked pies, baked cookies, and hot
drinks served in a mug. I think of the coziness that fills a home
once again, that was missing during the warm summer
months. I think of the holidays ahead, and the feeling of warmth in my heart reawakens. I think of the autumns of my
past. Such as walking to school with crispy leaves that
crunch under my shoes as I walk. I think of chestnuts that
have fallen along the walk to my old school and wondering
what they would taste like if roasted. Tho I never did taste
one. I think of a few Halloween parties and my first try at
bobbing for apples and catching one. And pulling taffy fun,
and making popcorn balls for the one and only time. I think
of making cookies and putting faces on them with candycorn,
or M'&M's. Drinking hot cider. Drinking hot spiced wine with
a cinnamon stick to swirl in it. And I think of an open fireplace.
With it's warmth spreading out into the living room, and I
watch as the flames flicker to an almost blinding light. It's as
if a home really feels like a home. With the comfort and sec-
urity, only a child can feel, snuggled against their mothers
chest. And it all feels so good, to remember the good times.

Autumn reminds me of hot chocolate-I love hot chocolate! Some nice ginger snap cookies sure would taste good with it. Of course, it was 80 here today, so it's hard to even think of autumn. lol

yes, and apple pies , and pear upside down cake with Ginger bread on top. Very good. Pumpkins pies. And a large pot of pink stew. Got beets in it along with every root veggie one can think of. Loved it.

Gingersnap bread pudding sounds scrummy! Tell us the recipe please. Autumn makes me think of my Grandma's steamed mixed berry pudding and custard.

Autumn doesn't remind me of gingersnaps, but it does remind me of cider & plain donuts, as well as apples.

I don't like ginger snaps, but I do like apple cider in the fall.

No, more of doughnuts and cider -- but the thought of ginger snaps makes my mouth water.

Not at all. I am happy that all the goodies come out in pumpkin flavors, though. Pumpkin and spice, reminds me of autumn.
