Acting "agencies" are usually ripoffs looking to sell expensive lessons. Professional acting agents are another story. They find auditions for their clients, and are paid by a percentage of what their client actually earns.
But real agents do not take on untrained clients. You need experience and training before you're ready for an agent.
There will be opportunites for you to try out for more than musicals in high school. You should also investigate community theatre, and private lessons.
And at your age, you can't do any of it without your parents' permission. You can't sign a contract until you're over eighteen.

A Talent agency would not be interested in someone with no experience and no training. They need very talented actors who can compete with the best in the world and have a CV to prove it. You are going to have to find a way to be in plays at school or in the community. You can find out about auditions, but there is no way you can work without her consent. It takes years of experience and training to become an actress and it starts in your schools.

Well..... how old r u? Little kids can get reconized anywhere! Try out for a commerical or go to a show yourself! Like in Spokane Washington there is a show, 2 shows actually, a musical and a non musical. You should see them. They have kids acting from 8-18! Stars love coming to shows, so if you get in CYT or Children theater and you show off your stuff you will be a star in no time!

Do NOT ask your question in USA, ask in AUSTRALIA!
Find out the procedure, in the city where you live, to get an agent.
The procedures are DIFFERENT in every USA city. What is typical in NYC, will NOT be the same in other USA cities.
Ask your actor friends that have an Agent to recommend you to their Agency.

wow, i always use to beg my mom about this too, but it never worked out either. annyyyhoo..just really stress it to her, gather all the information about the place and stuff, show her you want it bad enough that you'll go out of your way to make it happen. I'm sure she'll perk up and understand you'll take it more seriously.
