6 years is hardly what you could call a long time! You must be very young if you think it is!
The singers parents were probably just babies when I was in my teens, never mind her. I doubt anyone will remember her name in 50 years time, or that she'll still be singing, whereas the songs I remember are from 'legends' like Elvis or the still performing Sir Cliff! The memories are great but I wouldn't want to be 8 years old again which I was when I first heard 'Living Doll'

I love the old songs. Funny most important events in my life I can associate with a song. I love my music though. The radio is on all day here an my kids love music. How many 7 year olds do ya know like James Blunt to Johnny Cash?

i was born in 1991, so i'm a 90s kid. when i hear old songs, it brings back memories of things i would do as a kid or back then, and some songs are even afiliated with emotions or memories (like i remember going to a custom auto-shop with my mom when i was maybe 5-ish and listening and bone-thugs-and harmony would always be playing). i also remember when diary by alicia keys came out (i can play it on piano now =D), and i had my first officialy boyfriend, and just things like that lol).

Like most people, I sing in the shower - but most of my stuff was recorded in 1958 - when I was 16.

Didn't think anything of it until the bloke next door (aged in his 30s) remarked the other day "Hey, that song you were singing this morning - It's on a CD I bought last week called Golden Oldies. It's 50 years old . . . . . "

What's more - the blokes still performing - Jerry Lee Lewis.

That isn't a golden oldie! Well not from my point of view anyway. How about All Around the World by Lisa Stansfield, that is a song that makes me feel warm and funny, lol:-D

That's not even an old song! I can understand feeling that way about music from the 90s, 80s, or 70s... but this decade? That song isn't old at all. And it sucks.

Long time ago? What does that make ME, ancient? GEESH! While I grew up with the songs of the '60's, my musical education included my parents' eras back to the '20's.

I think it was Duke Ellington (and if you don't recognize that name you'd better research it!) who said, "There are only two kinds of music, GOOD and BAD. I play only the GOOD kind."

Have a tuneful day!
