Mircrosoft word says I should replace himself with him, but i don't think it sounds correct.
How would I change the sentence to be grammatically correct?

use "within him." Sounds better

Tough one but I think you're right. If you replace it with "him," you could be referring to someone else other than "himself." With "himself" there's no question as to who he's referring to. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Its not a glaring grammatical problem. Ursula Le Guin, the great writer, once said that Microsoft Word's grammar check was complete garbage and totally ignores it.

Sounds OK to me Word can be annoying yet helpful.

It is grammatically correct. Him is not a better word to use. Computer programs aren't reliable in these matters.

"Himself" is necessary here for clarity. I would suggest, for better flow, that you drop "some" or change it to "any." What you have is not wrong, though.

MS Word is not always right.

if you are talking about another person then him. if its the same person then himself.
