Try listening to Led Zeppelin,Status Quo,Aerosmith,Pink Floyd etc, most of the late late 60`s 70`s rock bands are still the best, you will find a few of their songs related to sex drugs and religion, but they are 4 great bands, and .Led Zeppelin are fantastic,Physical Graffitis a great double album.Todays rock bands cant come near them .I recommend Status Quo to liven up any party, listen Sweet Caroline, Roll over lay Down,Rockin all over the World and you will know what i mean.Another fantastic band are Queen, but they did record some sad songs, avoid those, and youl be listening to one of the greatest rock bands ever, awsome.

FINALLY. I'm the same way. I hate songs with bad lyrics! Relient K has quite a few good songs such as Be My Escape, Who I Am Hates Who I've Been and Which To Bury, Us Or The Hatchet. Yellowcard has some really good songs like Way Away, Ciggarette, The Takedown, and Paper Walls. The Great Escape by Boys Like Girls is pretty good too. I know they're more so pop, but Jonas Brothers are awesome also.

A song by Amon Amarth, it is called Cry of the Blackbirds.

Or Hangar 18 by megadeth. They're both pretty good songs.

Well, Switchfoot I guess, but they kinda suck, death, drugs, sex, religion are what make killer rock/metal songs!
