I work at honda and a new a/c compressor for a 01 honda civic retails at 530.00 bucks...youre getting charged 870.00 for labor..wayyy too much...you can find a better dealthan that..

no its not a good deal the ac compressor is under the hood where the engine is. id get a different mechanic or take someone else who knows about cars with you to the next mechanic. good luck
